Barter/Labor Program

 Need to pay a bill?

With our barter/labor program we can help you pay that bill in exchange for your labor in the community garden. Contracts are available for up to $300.

Why give to Barter/Labor?

The Bible tells us that work is a blessing. Your donation provides an opportunity for a participant to work off a bill teaches them new skills, builds relationships, and teamwork. Work is the best solution to poverty.

Currently this program is available for Missaukee County residents.

Steer Project (fundraiser)

Through the generosity of area farmers, Friends Ministry will have approximately 40 steer calves sometime in April.

  • Calves will be fed by the farmers for the first 60 days then donated to Friends Ministry.
  • We locate the calves to a piece of property on site.
  • A local herdsman has volunteered to oversee this project.
  • Calves are sold to a feed market in the fall.
  • Money earned helps us to raise operating cash for our gardening project.

Here is how you can help us with this fundraiser

  • Sponsor a calf. The cost is $295. To raise 1 calf.
  • Give a donation of quality bales of hay
  • Commit to 15 minutes, once a week in the morning to feed, grain/hay the calves.
