Friends Ministry - has been around since 1994. Friends Farm (a division of Friends Ministry) began in 2010 with 6 acres of vegetables and berries. We serve families and individuals in Missaukee County with limited services available to Wexford and Osceola Counties. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization overseen by a dedicated board and staff. We thank God for the people and resources he has sent to provide for our community. We Believe - God has called us to love Him and love our neighbor. We practice this love by: - Building relationships with people
- Providing work through barter/labor
- Growing delicious, nutritious food
- Sharing and learning God’s knowledge
- Contributing to the needs of others
- Working together with volunteers, trustees, and community service groups

Ministry Steer Project - (This is a donation not a share of beef) Local area farmers generously donate steer calves to Friends Ministry in early spring. The head count will be approximately 30. They are fed and maintained for the first 60 days on location and then transported to our holding pen onsite. There we will have the responsibility to feed and maintain them until late October. The calves are sold at market to support garden costs. A local experienced person has volunteered to over-see this project but this is where you come in . . . If you would like to help us:
- We are in need of individuals, families or groups to sponsor a calf. The cost is $295 for one calf.
- You can prorate your donation on a monthly basis or give a one-time gift.
- We would also gladly consider donations of quality bales of hay.
- We need a few people who will commit to 15 minutes once a week to feed grain/hay to the calves in the morning.
