Birch Point Farm Wish List These are things that we need around the farm and would prefer to re-use (or re-purpose) rather than buy new. Here's where the CSA network (that is, you!) works best. Do you have some of these things lying around that you'd like to get rid of? Know someone else that does (we're willing to make budget purchases)? Are you a garage sale/ thrift store hound? Keep an eye out for us!
- metal fence posts (T posts)
- lawn mowers- a riding model for the lawn, and a small reel (human-powered) or gas push mower for mowing living mulch in field paths
- lumber for small building projects- got usable scrap around? know someone who does? send it our way!
- picnic table
- wood chips in large quantities
- used CLEAN plastic handle bags for farmers' market sales-do you have a stash?
- heavy duty garden hoses-- longer the better
- wooden "apple" crates
- utility shelving for barn-- wood or metal
- work gloves for volunteers- all sizes
- "back and forth" sprinkler
- large capacity heavy duty wheelbarrow and garden cart
- watering cans
- plug trays (the plastic trays that plants come in from greenhouses/nurseries) sizes 48 -128 (check with us re: what these sizes mean)
- high quality perennial plant material (fruit trees, brambles, etc.)
- 5 gallon (food grade) buckets
- LARGE coolers for storing/transporting produce
- Load of gravel (pea stone) for underneath our root-washing area
- Old (working, not leaking) refrigerators OR, even better,
- A used walk-in cooler (at least 4'x6')
- Walk-behind rototiller/BCS
