Web Based Resources There is a wealth of information about CSA on the internet. A few resources are listed below, and these can lead you as far into the topic as you might wish to go.
CSA-List email Discussion Group http://www.prairienet.org/pcsa/CSA-L/
www.localharvest.org Farm and other food listings for the US, including specific, searchable listings for CSA farms, farm markets and other categories by region, state, zip code. Free listing, which you create and edit using their online forms.
USDA Alternative Farming Systems Information Center http://www.nal.usda.gov/afsic/csa/ is linked to a wide variety of CSA resources and information.
A budgeting tool for CSA farms is available free at www.agrenv.mcgill.ca/agrecon/staff/baker/ (scroll to bottom of the page and click on “link” below “CSA Budget Worksheet”). The Excel spreadsheet, prepared at McGill University in Quebec, allows you to prepare various budgets and compare the results.
The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems at the University of Wisconsin has a pair of CSA management papers available online at www.cias.wisc.edu/ (search for csa management) in printer-friendly pdf format.
Newfarim.org: online newsletter from Rodale. Access is free, and a ‘subscription’ brings the home page to your inbox. “CSA Journal” is a frequent column; information on crop pricing, research, resources, and more.
