PICK UP POINTERS

Days and Times: Farm pickup is Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Please arrive so that you can complete your pickup by 7:00. Allow at least 15 minutes to do this. We are ready to sit down by then after a long day. Delivery to Frankfort, Saturday during the farmers market.
What if I’m late? Just call and we will bag up your veggies for you. You can then come by laterthat evening or the next day to pick up your bag (your name will be on it). The earlier you call the better for us.
I Forgot! Call us right away. We bag up the veggies for latecomers, and your share may still be in good shape. If we don’t hear from you by the end of the day after pickup we will assume that you want to donate your veggies to a needy family.
Holidays: We usually have our regular pickups and delivery on holidays. We will give plenty of notice if there is a change. If the holiday is a problem for you, call and we will bag up your veggies to be picked up the next day. Let us know in advance. What happens when I go on vacation? You can offer your share to a friend or neighbor when you go away. Be sure that they know the times and day. Tell us in advance so that we can be prepared for a new face. This will give them a taste of our farm. Sometimes we can give you some extra before or after your trip. Contact us and we will work something out.
Parking and driving into our farm: Please be very careful when you drive in and out of the farm. You may meet someone going the other way. There are places for you to pull over in order to get around each other. Park past our garage in the open area. Stroll down the 2-track through the gardens to the little barn with the red roof.
May I bring children and visitors to the farm? We consider Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. to be an open time for guests, but we do not always have time to visit with everyone. So please be prepared to entertain your guests and care for your children at pick-up times. If relatives or friends are visiting at another time call and we can arrange a farm tour.
Safety: We want your trip to the farm to be pleasant so be careful walking down our paths and keep track of your little ones.
Bags: Bring your favorite basket or a bag to gather your vegetables into. Many people collect used grocery bags and leave them in the barn to share with others, there are bags to use if you forget to bring one.
Distribution: All of your vegetables are harvested, many are rinsed and put out for you to select and weigh or count. A blackboard will indicate the amount of veggies per share for that day. Scales are close by and children often enjoy being involved with the weighing and selecting of the food. A weekly newsletter tells of how the gardens are doing, what to expect in coming weeks and any problems we may be experiencing. A bouquet of flowers accompanies your veggies most weeks along with an assortment of fresh herbs.
A Word about Deliveries: The folks who come to the farm have the benefit of asking what everything is. We try to provide information to the people we deliver to, at least for veggies that are unusual. If you are getting too much of something,or if you don’t like certain veggies let us know and we can try to accommodate.
